I have noticed that a whole series of x-fi sales have been occuring on newegg.com. Sales typically occur when new models are coming out, hence the purpose of this thread. Does anyone know of Creative releasing new soundcards that would prompt these sales? They are instant savings sales too, not MIR!

the xtremeaudio is cut down to only 96kHz stereo, while the xtreme gamer only has four ports, but has X-ram

Correct. There are a few new varients of the X-Fi, but not a new product line as far as I know. The Audigy 2 was around quite a while before the X-Fi's came out, so I don't see any reason why they'd move on so soon, especialy since the X-Fi is not pushed very hard by modern softwrae/speakers.

4 ports for what? Or do you mean the XtremeGamer and not the XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro?
