It looks like a BIOS compatability problem, like Intel was havign with the Precott Processors. THe purpose of the restriction may be that they don't want people to buy them, have an incompatible BIOS and return them a few weeks later.

Warning just doesnt make much sense to me. I mean they say something about being coupled with certain mobos but fail to tell you which.

The mobos would be the only compatible ones, it just looks like a good way to minimize the return rate on those CPUs.
