New gaming build! [needs name]

Hey, I'm James and in the next few days I'll be purchasing the following for a gaming rig:

GigaByte EP45T-UD3P
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650
Corsair DDR2 4GB PC-8500/1066 (2x XMS2 2GB) Ram
eVGA GTX 285 1GB
Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM
Corsair TX-850 850W ATX Power Supply
Antec 1200

I'll be taking the DVD drive and Zalman CNPS9700LED, as well as the 500GB drive from my current rig (for OS drive for new rig, 1.5TB will be storage) my current rig when the parts arrive. It was a tough decision making the choice between the E8400 and the Q9650 but I opted for the latter because I've been getting back into folding of late.

What do you guys think about raiding 2x500GB Seagate drives for my OS drive?

I'm currently waiting to get a quote before I purchase the parts.

This baby needs a name, help me out guys! Also, feel free to leave your feedback/thoughts on the parts I've chosen.

Pics when I get the parts...

Looks really good except I wouldn't get DDR3, not really worth the money at this point. Just stick with DDR2 for now. Save you some money and get a better CPU cooler than the zalman.

Cheers for the advice - I'm trying to future-proof this rig and I don't really mind that DDR3 is twice as expensive as DDR2. What CPU cooler do you recommend?

Seriously no point in DDR3. DDR2 is still future proof. You wont notice a difference.

If you are trying to future proof the rig, and don't care about a component costing twice as much, why not upgrade to the 1366 socket and go core-i7?

at least it makes the ddr3 a necessity

I like all these dark names, keep em coming! I love Supernatural (the TV show) and I'm into metal/hardcore/deathcore etc...

Only problem is the DDR3 is only $100 more where as for good core i7 (I'm not settling for the 920) it's another $500 more - I'm not made of money, I'm a Year 12 student

Or the CoolerMaster V8 - keeps my i7 @ 4.2gHz under 75c without a problem. As for the name, ummm, how about "Dyson with a Graphics Card"? Sorry, Hoover is taken.

all the more reason to not go DDR3.

you could get 2 4850's for the price and get really good performance out of them. maybe even 2 4870's...

ah, here we go

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102801

SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB - $189.
swap to a EP45 UD3P and save about 10 bucks, and the $100 saving from the ram means it's all within budget, not to mention you can get 8gb of ram, or even another HDD
