Ok, I switched my friends heatsink from the stock amd 255 heatsink (aluminium 1/2 inch with fan attached) to this and I was the one who installed it so its installed correctly, but thanks to the fact that the socket on the motherboard is 90 degrees turned from what mine is for some reason the fan points down, and the temperatures are EXACTLY the same as the last heatsink. Idles low 30s and under load about 50, my CPU, which is the exact same as hers goes to a max of 38-39C, and I'm OC'd 500 MHz...What the hell is going on? does the fact that the fan is pointing down on hers and pointing towards the front on mine make that much difference?
Edit: was just thinking about airflow, and if I turned the back fan to where its pulling air in and the power supply takes it out would that make it recycle the air enough to get the temperatures down?
