I didn't want to derail my own thread about which CPU to buy, but here is my dilemma.

I am on a budget, so please don't recommend that I buy all kinds of crazy stuff. I don't want the latest 'n greatest, just a "medium" upgrade.

The recommended settings for the game are below:

Quote:
* Operating System - Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7
* Processor - QuadCore 2.0Ghz
* Memory - 2GB RAM+
* Video Card - A video card with 512MB of VRAM and one of the following chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce GTX260; ATI Raedeon 4870
* HDD Space - 9GB
* Soundcard - Soundcard with DirectX 10 compatibility
* DirectX - DirectX 10
* Disc Drive - 16X CD/DVD Drive
My system is in my signature.

Is it better (if you had to pick) to upgrade just my video card or just my cpu/mobo/ram?

I was thinking of the GTX 260 OC (which you can get easily for 120 bucks), but it's not DX11. And the 5570 or whatever from ATi supposedly has issues.

It was also recommended as an option to get:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813157198R

For just over 300.

What would you do? (Or do you think I could run the game as my current system stands)

Um your current rig looks pretty capable, maybe not fully maxed out, but it could run the game pretty well.

Get the open beta this Monday and check it out, if anything it might be the RAM if it's still DDR2.

I was thinking about getting the eVGA GTX 460. I have an Amazon gift card so I can get it for 120 bucks shipped.

I can't upgrade to DDR3 I don't think with my MB. It's not the GA-EP45T-UD3P
