need a new graphics card for one of my computers, currently i have an 8800gt in one computer and the other computers card just died

im looking to spend around $50 new (after MIR) or used
like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121329

basically i need a midlevel card that will run 2 Monitors with out any lag while audio editing
I plan to overclock this computer, i dont know if i would be able to get a faster GPU than an 8800gt near my budget, i have been out of computers for about 1.5 years

From what I know, a 4670 is about as good as a 3870, which it self is as good as an 8800. I could be wrong, please correct me if I am.

A 4670 is about my GSO, which is not equal to a 3870. In that price range you should be looking for a used 9600 GT.

I said about, I didn't say exact. I was just looking at bench mark ratings anyway.
i got my 9800gt oc off ebay for 61.00 shipped.. just got to look for deals and ninja them at the end.
4650>3850>4670>3870

A 4670 would suit your needs just fine. They overclock well too.

*beep* no! never buy a gpu that uses gddr2. For your money, i say either a 4670 or perhaps a used 9600gt. check newegg open box deals, i got my 4670 for like $50 there

You're right. I made the mistake of getting a ddr2 4650 and even it gets bottlenecked by the slow ram.

how is yhis?
That should do the job pretty well. Maybe it's better to get a GSO? It has more memory.

I picked up a used 8800GT for $57, if you shop around the marketplace here a bit you should be able to find a 512mb 9600GT or an 8800GT (faster card) or even an 8800GS (same as 9600GSO 384mb) or 8800GTS 320mb (G80). All are good cards, with the 8800GT being the best
