New monitor, so now I need new Card.

Hey guys,

I just went from 17in dell crt to a 23in samsung LCD. So now I'm looking for a new card. I wana play all my games in 1920x1080 or something close to that. I would prefer high setting but I'm not too picky, I can do medium as well. I'm not looking for a highend card or a dual card setup. Just a good card at a great price.

Thanks,
Levi

Personally, I'd get an ATi HD5770. It offers great performance, while running very cool, being very future proof due to it supporting DirectX 11 and will run on your power supply with ease.

I second the notion for a 5770

So...when you upgrading to AM3 there op?

That 6000+ is getting pretty weak

Yeah I know, I was going to do a whole sysem upgrade but I went with monitor and GFX card for this year.

By next year the new sata and USB will be main stream. Then I will upgrade.

It may sound sad but I just upgraded the processor this month from a x2 4200.

It was my understanding that video gaming didn't benfit much from quad core CPUS.

Any ways I'm going to check out that card and let you know.

Yeah you would see more of a raw gain with a high clocked dual core vs a mildy/high clocked overclocked quad core for the moment...you would be able to get all of your moneys worth out of a dual core in gaming but getting the quad core would be a bit of future proofing

So yeah you would see a big performance boost switching up to a 550BE...

Anyways your upgrade path does sound pretty sweet though...that 6000+ still has some kick to it
