Yay, I got my RMA DFI board. So I left it on the padding it comes in the anti-static bag, and put it on my folder, mounted my RAM, popped in the video card, and plugged in the PSU. Everything works fine, it starts up, stuff is picked up, all is good. So I think "k, good, it works with just the basics", so I turn it off, and hook up the HDD and the DVD drive, and turn it back on. Everything still works pefectly fine. I go into the BIOS, and the drives are picked up. So I turn it off to get the Windows disc out, and I notice that I forgot to plug in the extra 2 power connectors. So I do, and turn it on, but when I do, the images are all wierd...like they're covered in error or something. After I get through the DFI logo, it comes up with this screen:

I turned the comp off, and turned it back on, but I still got this messed up display. So I then unplugged the 2 power connectors, but it still wasn't doing any good. I'm gonna go try checking all the cables and tightening the parts. In the meantime, any of you think you could offer some suggestions as to what may be going on? Thanks.

All the parts are from my current sig.

Ok...I put the mobo in the case, and plugged everything in except for the removable drives, and all worked fine. Then I went to plug in the IDE stuff, and the problem started up again. So I guess I've found the source of the problem: something to do with the IDE business, whether it be the HDD, CD, or the cable or something else.

I used a diff IDE cable, a diff IDE port on the mobo, turned on with just the HDD, just the CD, a diff HDD, and the problem has continued. Could it be the HDD? Just please don't tell me it's 2 faulty IDE ports on the mobo

Good news, it's not the ports on the mobo, but I didn't have the HDD plugged in, which does leave me to believe that something is wrong with it, and although it may not be as bad as another faulty mobo, it sounds like this is going to be another drag...
