Good evening,

I'm buying a new CPU cooler for my system, and I am dead set on getting a cooler from Noctua, as I am amazed at how utterly good their products perform.
Now, I have two choices, since both coolers are 52,- euros: The NH-U9B SE2 and the NH-U12P SE2. I know that the U12P is essentially a bigger brother than the U9B, so in theory, if the price is the same, I should pick the U12P anyday right? I'm only concerned with it's weight. I have a Silverstone Raven 02-E case, I like the lesser weight on the U9P, as I'm afraid it will put a heavy strain on my motherboard. As I also overlock lightly, no hardcore stuff, I'm wondering whether the U9B might just be a better fit for me, even though the U12P is a more badass cooler as the same price?

Kind regards,

Zaph

Pick the U12P SE2 and don't look back. It's an outstanding single-tower cooler.

Weight is truly a nonissue. Honest. The Noctua attachment system is one of the finest and unless you have a factory defect your motherboard will manage the weight perfectly fine.
