New PC build

I'm planning to a gaming PC for around $500. I'm stuck, however, on the motherboard and graphics card. This is what I'm looking at currently:

ASRock P43 Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157130

Sony Optiarc DVD Burner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118012

Antec 300 Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042

Seagate 250gb HD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148261

HIS IceQ 4670
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161249

NeoPower 650W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371011

Tuniq TX-2 Thermal Compound
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154003

Patriot Extreme Performance 2x2gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220227

Finally, E5200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116072

Decided on everything! I chose the ASRock because it supports DDR3 and I like to future proof. Same thing goes for the power supply. I chose the 4670 because my monitor can only play on lower resolutions. I'll have it up and running (HOPEFULLY) in a few weeks.

Edit: WRONG SECTION. Damn.

Are the earthwatts comparable to Corsair's offerings?

perfect for ur rig

Why cut down to 400w. The one hes getting is more watts

Because before today i have never even heard of HEC and the rvies arent exactly that good. IT looks like those cheap dodgy PSUs that you tend to avoid.

Although it may have a higher wattage it would be unstable and might lead to hardware failure whereas if you buy the corsair which has 30A on the 12v rail you are guaranteed a safe, sturdy PSu to rely on. 400w is enough for that rig especially if its corsair.

Yea the earthwatts are ok aswell but obviously not as good as Corsair. Your choice.
What are your opinions on Recertified/Open Box video cards? There's a recert EVGA 8800GT for 109, and an Openbox ASUS one for 99.
Then Antec case has a very nice combo with the Antec Earthwatts 500w for like $70 I think.

The 4830 is a fine card, and I think you should keep it. P43 is fine, unless you need the overclocking of the P45
This looks really appealing too:

A good cooler and OC edition.
Agree with Wookie, go with the Antec 300 and EW500 combo at $69, still cheaper than separate case and HEC psu.

i second this

but id go with a decent P45 or gigabyte P43-DS3L at the very least

The Antec 300 is currently free shipping at Newegg AND comes with a POS PSU.
its looks good the p43 is a good board has some overclocking potential but not as much as p45 and up, but it will do for your rig. The 4830 is an ok vid card but I would get the 4850 for only $20 more and it has a higher core and memory clock not to mention higher stream processors.

its a bit over your budget but certain things can be switched out too lower the price for ya

or intel if you prefer

those pics are a bit old so u can get the antec case/psu for 70 so it will drop both the prices down by roughly 20$

i'll also attempt at cheaper prices aswell if you prefer
