Either MB is very good! The Asus is a bit more user friendly where as the DFI is more demanding and has more BIOS options!
On the CPUs...
The alleged core is irrelevant!
Both choices are excelent... get which ever you can thats cheeper.

On the RAM ... if you can squeeze the extra money, consider 2x1G vs 2x512s!

yeah both mb seems very good but i want a more future proof mb but there is not such thing in the computing world is there...

in overclocking terms i hear the dfi is greater as it has many OC options so i can squeeze out more performance, when it starts to lag.
but i also hear that the asus is not far behind the dfi and in some performacnce it beats the dfi.

but i ve read in the forum, for a dual core, that the asus limits my vcore to only 1.55v, as im thinking of getting the system to OC as much as poss. with water cooling im sure i can go over to a higher vcore and get better OC results.
or is there not much difference?

btw if i were to get it watercooled any suggestion on a set up? under £150 if possible

thanks

ok i have decideed on the dfi lanparty sli dr expert board
i know it needs a 8 pin connector and a 24 pin connector

can any one recommend a good PSU but i dont really wanna spend over £100
ive seen the enermax noisetaker 600W for about £93
or maybe the seasonic s12 600
anyone find a cheaper realiable one
and will the two above fit my dfi expert?

pakapak I just built one of these machines. DFI expert board 2x512 Crucial Ballstix Tracer DDR500 2.5-4-4-8 @ 2.8v AMD Opty 170 overclocked to 2.5GHz stock volts personly for the power supply I would get Antec Truepower 2.0 550W that is what I have. But if you plan on DX10 card or SLi then get OCZ GameXtreme 600W or 700W. Those three are on the DFI recommended list.
