Just got done putting my new rig together --CROSSHAIR V FORMULA, FX-8350, Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16 GB, SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition ,CORSAIR HX Series HX850

Plugged everything in, 8 plug for cpu, main 20 pin, sata drives, video card everything i had and no post or video. Lot's of led's, go,start, reset buttons light up and work, all fans turn on, even on the GPU just no post. I've since checked all plugs and unplugged all drives and GPU. Still no post. Should a MB post with no GPU plugged in?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I know you might not be able to tell me this. But any chance you know what bios the mobo is running?
bios 1703 is when the 8350/20 started to be supported by Asus.

OMG I think that's it. I brought the MB last Feb-12. From what I can tell the 1703 bios didn't come out to Oct-12. My GF hurt her knee at work and put my rig on hold till now. Soooo how do I flash my board when it won't post?

That sucks... Like he said, u could take it to a shop, or you could post a wanted add on here for an am3 cpu, or you could buy a cheap(er) new one.
Cheapest i could find on newegg single core am3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103888

Picked up a FX-6100 and same thing. No post. Brought to next door geeks <--- Computer repair store and they went over everything and it's my Board. Ordered a new one, this time from newegg, got the Z model this time. Should be here tomorrow. Now I need to build another rig with my FX-6100 chip. Oh well tough luck for me

So does the non-Z model with 1707 bios. I will build the 8350 but have to do something with the 6100.

So I got my new Crosshair V formula- Z put it in and bang, post and video feed. Typing this on it right now. Awesome speed. Picture's to follow.Brought the non-Z from the watchguy on E-bay last Feb. That's 2012. So Now I have a really cool brand new looking MB for a paper weight from Asus.
