hey guys, I really need a new motherboard for my CPU, and it doesnt have to support crossfire or sli. I just need a reliable one to keep my processor at 3.2GHz stable...

Your current board should be able to hold off whatever OC you want.

I say just tweak some settings, and you should have it. If not then your chip is at fault.
Are you having issues with your UD3P? That motherboard can easily hold a Q6700 @ 3.2gHz. Are you using LLC? If not you might want to try that. And up the Vcore man! That chip can take 1.4V 24/7 like it's nothing. Actually it's rated up to 1.5V.

incorrect, this mobo is useless lol. I have had so many problems with it. It continues locking up randomly. the networking card on it doesnt work right either
. I guess I could have another one of the same mobo but I guess something cheaper without two PCI-E slots would be better.

RMA it before you go and spend another <$200 and run into the same overclocking problems as before.

I'd RMA it - that board is really good, so if you're having problems it's either the CPU limiting it or a fault with the board
Try an RMA first but no guarantees since I think Gigabyte takes a while...
Sounds to me like your mobo is borked. If you've tried everything, just RMA it. If you don't need CF, take a look at the UD3R.

The 775 UD3-series are top dogs when it comes to quad overclocking nowadays, especially for the price.

Post your settings, lock ups are usually due to incorrect MCH volts.

ok will post my settings when i get home. I dont think that I can RMA it? I'm in the UK and pretty sure I've had the board for more than a year.

The CPU is fine because I have had it at 3.6 stable before but with much higher voltage. I have a different gfx card in the computer now and it works fine. It does lockup for a few moments on occasion but it allways comes back from the frozen screen. This maybe because I swapped to a nvidia card from ati without removing drivers though...
Gigabyte should have a 3 year warranty if I remember correctly. So u should be able to RMA. But if u said graphics card switch helped, it might not need it. U can uninstall all drivers and reinstall nVidia ones and check if it helps.
i wasnt even the first owner m8 (and i bought it from overseas) and gb uk let me rma mine

i would let noguru have a peek at your settings tho, he knows his **** man

RMA it. Nothing beats the UD3P. It is the KING!
