For 5.1, the Logitech Z-5400s are very very very nice for my money...

For 2.1, I like the Logitech Z-2300.

Both of these have great sound, a nice amount of bass, and the Z-5400 has good control features.

Thats a tad high price range. I was thinking more like $110. Could I get some thing decent for that price on that list?

I have the z-5500's, and they sound good, and get pretty loud before really distorting, but im just really let down on the subs performance. For a "long throw" 10" sub... its lacking big time! Its really not much of a long throw sub by my standards. Also it claims to be 1000watt max. Pfff, i doubt they even max out 500-600watts. Let alone 1k.

For a gamer and moderate music fan, i guess they are ok. But i feel they should have more to them for the price.

I dont seem to be able to get the speakers working properly. One of the speakers isnt working at all. and my sound card doesnt really seem to have a clue which speaker is which.

I didnt really want to bust my budget. They seem to be a big improvement from my $5 no name brand speakers .

Your right about the sub as its rms is 188 so its peak would be 376, they state the pmpo for the wole system as 1010 since its rms is 505.

As for a 2.1 i would go for the z2300's but they lack the mids at high volume and for a 5.1 I would go for the z-5400's

I got the X-530.

I cant get the Center speaker to work for some reason.

Anyway my rig is getting closer to complete. Got my C2D Got my speakers. Next on my list is a 21 inch CRT (which will be cheaper to get than the speakers were).

Nice looking speakers there,

NEVER even look at PMPO figures, they are just a load of bo**ocks!

ONLY look at RMS figures, they are the only TRUE numbers written on the side of the box.

Anyone got a 1KW amplifier on here? How about moving one about?
They are HUGE and weigh a TON, most end up in 19" racks with large castors on the bottom!!

Yea. I mite have to get some things a bit better at some stage. Great for watching movies. Ok for music. Just im a bit of a Audiophile so I probably need to get a new sound card and some better speakers. But for now these are alot better than what I had .

These speakers are better than my house stereo. But not as good as the stereo system that was in my last car (12 inch Fusion sub etc).

How much of a improvement over your onboard sound was the Audgity 4? Im wondering if its worth getting. Some one said my speakers distort at high volumes I have not noticed this. They seem to go loudered than I want to have them while sitting at the desk fairly easily.
