I was wondering if you guys could check out my build, and I had some help from slothfish.

-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) (PC3 10666) - $70
currently sold out :X
-OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W - $40
-1. AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz
-2. GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P
COMBO DEAL: Combo Price: $135

Zumax 650
-My current power supply is an ePower Zumax. Not sure if this will work for an ATI 5890, but I would like to know. I heard the 5xxx are lower on the temps gaming than their competitors match-up. I was wondering if this was true or not, because I want to play Battlefield Bad Company 2. The problem: I don't know if I should get a 5XXX series or 2XX. I heard some games play better with a certain competitor, and if this is true what GPU is best for a Battlefield game?

I will purchase a Samsung 2233RZ monitor, displays 1680x1050 native @ 120hz! $300ish
BlackFriday Newegg Monitor Deals
Not sure if I should go with a monitor yet. My 17inch CRT that displays at 85hz will do for now, but I really have my eyes on the 120hz LCD (leaning towards Samgung, and not Viewsonic).

Furthermore, things might go sour with an open box GPU... not too sure what to do here. Do I buy the nice ModX 700 Psu and save up later for a GPU... or get the whole set up now (depends on my Zumax PSU being used in the new build or not & what GPU is a variable).

P.S. I posted this on intel builds by accident(was intending to do an intel build), so if a mod sees this please delete it. Sorry, for the trouble.

That setup looks really nice actually. Any one of those cards besides the 4850 will be great.

I heard some cards are 2 GPUs in 1, and I was thinking you could point me in the right direction.

And lets say I get one you recommend, can you please check my current PSU I'm using... the 650w zumax, and see if the [email protected] and such are good enough.

Thanks for looking

Ahhh, I only have 6 hours left.
personally i'd shoot for that 4870 - it's a bloody good deal. Although, if you can find a 5770 or 5850 for a good price it would certainly be worth it. Other than that, it looks like a really solid build to me.

wow, i'm really happy with the results!

and i found out the hd i have is a western digital 250gb 16mb cache

so 250 > 160

the problem now is

will the 4870 work with my 650zumax?

Please check it: http://www.zumaxpower.com/products/zu650w.htm

The 4870 is your best bet, for a budget rig.

EDIT: YEs, the 4870 will work on your PSU, it only requires 30a (you have 40a on your PSU).

but which one of these cards is actually one gpu, and not 2-GPUs-in-one?

ATI or Nvidia for COD/Battlefield games?

Of course Zumax will tell you they can handle it, but when it fries all your components, you'll regret it.

i've had my zumax for 2years, running great

not sure, but what do you recommend?

You can definitely run it on the Zumax, but I would get something better down the line.

Definitely Corsair (if you can afford it) or Seasonics/PC Power and Cooling/OCZ/Antec

Im betting that the HD2900 you have there pulls the same if not more power than a 4870/90 .
