Alright a few questions,..I attempted to setup Windows SMP (MPICH version) followed all the directions.

1) Is this the best choice or is there a better client for my my cpu

2) How much of an increase will I get in folding performance if I overclock to 4.0?

3) From pic 2-3,... Did my gpu lose progress and start over?

You should run both GPU2 and SMP client to get the most PPD. What is your current clock now? You will see a significant upage in PPD at 4.0 though. Yeah it did seem to restart. Did you restart your computer or close it because sometimes if you close it improperly it will lose the unit and will restart.

Yeah you should see a significant update if you up it to 4.0. Perhaps 1000or more ppd :O
thats how tings are for me when i close my folding client and restart it....it starts at a low ppd...

vmware with a 64bit linux distribution will net you a few more points although you would need 4 virtual machines to fully use that cpu, but i'd guess you could get about +2-3000 ppd using that setup. As a) linux is better at folding, and b) multiple dual core machines are better then a single octo/quad core machine in terms of ppd output. (i get about 2.5k ppd on a single 4core smp client, and about 3k on 2 dual cores, and 3.4k on 2 dual core vmware linux smp clients)

generally speaking you can get about 100ppd/100mhz overclock/client... So you do the math, the faster the better :d as long as its stable :d

3) from pic 2-3,... Did my gpu lose progress and start over?

:d
