AMD overdrive was EXTREMELY buggy for me in the past. I never recommend software overclocks.
Go into your system bios and check out the options from there. First before you even try overclocking read some threads on here about Testing an overclock.
You can get a cpu to show the highest speeds in the world, but if want your computer usable I suggest you test stability.
You will need a stress test. I use Prime 95 or Orthos (both can easily be found w/ google). Also you will need to test memory ( i do about 20 minutes before every pushed overclock before booting into windows as to not corrupt my operating system.
( THIS IS THE REASON I HATE SOFTWARE OVERCLOCKS, YOU PUSH TOO FAR YOUR OS CAN BECOME CORRUPTED)
Also be familiar w/ the BIOS reset jumper in the event of an unsuccessful overclock. Make you turn off ANY AMD cool and quiet features that may try to "step" your processor speed down during inactivity.
