Hey everyone - just dropping in to say hi. Have lurked these forums for quite some time, and always gleaning useful information off them - decided to finally register. Did my first overclock in 2003 using an igloo cooler w/water & ice and some random aquarium parts link here - gotta love the internet, and just recently finished a few more setups.

Most recently was a watercooled i7 920 setup that easily hit 4.0ghz & primed for 24 hours - and the system in my sig. For whatever reason, I really liked the completed system in my sig (even though it is only an AMD 7750be vs an i7 920, and the fact that being a student with the economy the way it is, I can use the cash from the i7 parts now..) and ended up mixing and matching parts (had to mod the Antec 300 case to fit the monster Corsair 1000watt PSU, lol) to create this sytem. I realized for my own personal computing needs, I didn't need the top of the line specs for the little I actually do now (rarely even game much anymore).

I don't consider myself very advanced at all with OC'ing.. most of the stuff I know is just from trial and error - and some reading on forums like this - but looking forward to learn and contribute a lot more... also keep an eye out for a bunch of high quality parts from my i7 920 build that I will be selling when I hit the +35 reps requirement

Looking forward to the forums,

Eric

Welcome! Looks like a nice system even though it's not top of the line.
You bought an I7 setup first.

Then realised it was way to expensive for you.
And you bought ANOTHER system so it would cost you less?

Goodluck with selling

and welcome to OCN

No, I already had this system - planning to use it for something else (although not with the 4870 and Corsair PSU in it). I was doing the i7 build for myself, and had it together but just didn't really like it, my goals also changed - and for whatever reason a mixture of a few things (PSU, GPU, some misc. fans, and BD-Rom) from the i7 system into this one seemed to fit me perfectly for now and time to come... it isn't that the i7 was too expensive for me (obviously I bought it all), but for what I decided I will be doing with the computer now it just makes no sense to have a $2,000+ i7 system and this one, so I'll just try to recoup what I can off the i7 parts and someone will get a good deal.

Thanks for the welcome guys
