Hey guys, so I just got my U2711. This thing is pretty great (aside from the AG which I don't really notice that much even though I'm picky). I do notice the typical left side greenish, right side pinkish effect that the AG causes but it doesn't bug me too much either.

It DOES have a stuck pixel though (bright green). This is REALLY tiny, and I have to be 2 inches from the screen to see it, should I bother going through the hassle to have this replaced? The same thing happened with a U2410, but the replacement had 4 DEAD pixels, not stuck pixels, and so that was worse.

I guess I have bad luck, or maybe i'm just too meticulous when I look over my screen. Anyways, should I call them up? I do have 30 days to get a brand new one still.

Also, is there any way to fix a stuck pixel? (I tried massaging it, didn't work)

you paid a lot of money for it, exchange it until you get one that you're satisfied with

dell has advanced replacement, i.e. they'll ship you a replacement before they receive the original

Stuck pixels are usually burned in pixels. It usually appears after you leave your monitor on for a while on the same exact images. Even though you're doing something like folding and you're keeping the window open, parts of the screen don't move which means you can always get a stuck pixel. It will go away on its own eventually. You can just wait a while. If you want it gone fast though, try that software above or just exchange it.

It won't necessarily go away on its own. I got my 24" KDS 1920x1200 about 3-4 years ago, and it too arrived with a single, bright green stuck pixel. Noticed it immediately, and it really bothered me even though it is within the lowest 50 rows of pixels on the screen. But I couldn't get mine replaced unless it had 4+ dead ones or something, can't remember. Anyway, point is, I ran those stuck pixel repair things a bunch of times, tried massaging it, holding pressure on it with a pen, all so many times I lost count. Just tried again for the hell of it. It's still there, the same bright green it always has been. After 3-4 years now. So definitely have your monitor replaced IMO, after having to deal with the same thing, I can tell you it never becomes a whole lot less disappointing over time. Still bugs me, that little bugger of a pixel.

You got a lot longer than 30 days.
You've got 3 years. Dell has a 'premium panel guarantee' that says your monitor ( all the ultrasharps) will be free of dead or stuck pixels for the duration of the warranty.

So, send it back. They're guaranteeing you a *perfect* screen, and you paid a lot, so make them give it to you.

From their sales pages : Zero Bright Pixels: Under Dell's Premium Panel Guarantee, you will receive a free panel exchange should even one bright defective pixel appear on the screen during your Limited Hardware Warranty period.

If your U2410 has those stuck pixels, send it back in for another RMA. Surely it's still under warranty.
