New XSPC pump not working??

3167 Views 20 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  dazedfive
Hey..

I just mounted all my new stuff and was ready to fill in the water.

I then filled it with water, turned it on (only pump on) and it worked fine, then I filled more water and turned on again but then I saw a leak, at the pump (the fitting was not straight on) fixed that and now it's not working. Tried everything. There's power on the PSU, thats for sure...

I have checked the cable and it does spit out 12V. So whats wrong? Manifacture failure?
Those pumps come really effed up sometimes from factory, contact the manufacturer and they'll help you out. I know someone whose pump was making ana wful noise and XSPC just sent him a new one, didn't even require him to send back the old one.
I just tried to put in a screwdriver in the pump, gently pushing the blade, and it now works...

It makes some noice, I'm not sure if its normal.

Kinda. But right now the radiator / pump is just on the floor, testing it. might be why

Make sure it is topped off with water and not filled halfway, if you don't finish filling up the res it makes some noise. if you top up the res and it's still loud you have a bad pump.
Mine are loud too. I contacted XSPC about it and sent them a video.. currently awaiting a reply from now. If your is loud like this : http://www.mediafire.com/?vot470h5xghy38a this is probably a bad one too

With the amount of issues report on OCN forums about this 720/750 pump, XSPC/RASA needs to get their pump supplier hopping on the quality and testing of each unit before they are shipped to the customer. This has not been a few random and isolated instances. Other forums have been reporting noise and pump failures as well.
This sort of thing is why I reccomend other kits to people who have the money.

They're really good kits, but they're pump do fail from factory sometimes. It's a rare sight but it does happen, so don't think it's garbage now.

Well, ive set an ultimatum. I will decided what to do next after this.

If XSPC haven't contacted me in the next 3 days or remplacement is negative from them. I will try to endure it or get a new pump/res.

I also had a noisy pump. I contacted xspc and they sent me a new pump which was also noisy. I think its just a crappy pump. Well I'm running 50/50 antifreeze and the pumps are silent. It does add a couple degrees compared to just distilled water. I'm running it like this until I can afford a better pump. Then its back to straight water.

Your fix makes me think that it wasn't the pump.
If I put water back in it rattles. If I dilute the antifreeze to a certain point it starts rattling again.

Strange.. could it be really air in the pump that causing this ? ive heard from some other dude in another forum that his pump do the exact same sound as mine.. also i hear from others that after some week they don't hear it anymore.. dunno what to do now.
Its not air. Just tilt the res until it sucks air in and you'll see its a different sound.
Sucks you had a bad experience... I have been running 2 of these 24/7 for 11 months solid without a single problem *knock on wood* I love em

Also, dazed, why are you running anti-freeze???
