Long time lurker, first time poster. Usually post over at Anand. Just received my 3570K last night. So far i'm still figuring out the biostar Z77 bios as its pretty childish compared to Asus but were making progress. At 4.5Ghz temps don't go past the high 50C's in Cinebench with an H70.

Those are some good results. Surprisingly cool at 4.5GHz with a H70. Any chance of some benchmarks e.g. super pi

Now for the big question: How did you get Ivy Bridge already? Its release date is the 29th of april or are you from the future.

Bought it off of Ebay from Hong Kong and not an ES. Retail stepping

Judging by your temperatures so far 5GHz could be possible with a H100 or maybe even with your H70.
CPU perform's decently. I don't expect mind numbing performance over sandy bridge

Stock temps were in the 20C's idle and 40C's load.

Like i said before. The Biostar bios isn't top notch and still on its initial release. Some tweaking needs to be done.

Just for comparison, my 2500K @ 4.5 get 7.03, gains with Ivy look marginal so far

@LordZeed

I could reach that result out of the box on stock UEFI buying 1 of first 15 boards thath came to my country straight after premiere.
Z77 is not a new platform so I don't think Manufacturers have any problems in developing new UEFI's.

But I am patient. Give us some more results and SS.

P.S. which exactly Biostar Z77 mobo you have?

Ivy Bridge wasn't expected to perform a hell of a lot better then sandy bridge. It's just a tick.

I'm kinda glad Ivy is only going to be marginally better than Sandy... I don't need the temptation to upgrade.
