according to what someone said around here.. 16:9 is apparently the going to be the de facto for displays. Maybe Samsung is jumping on the bandwagon early?

With that kind of resolution? Yay!

my only concern is that i doubt many games support an odd resolution like that, which may create stretching... good deal in terms of $-pixel ratios though

i dont see your point, the monitor supports 1920x1080p so you just play your older games at the resolution.

I don't see anything that hints at this monitor supporting a 1080p source (1:1 pixel mapping). Your going to get some sort of distortion.

I don't get why they created this odd resolution that's only a little bigger than 1080p. Unless you want a monitor with a reallly high dpi.

Why does 1080p matter so much on a PC monitor? The aspect ratio typically used on computers is 16:10, not 16:9 (I.E. we typically use 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1920x1200, etc.). I don't understand why 1080p support is needed if it's not a TV... but I really like that monitor. Might be my next, good find.
