I have a hanns G 17" that has been great for a few years. (please add price to thread)
Great deal for a massive screen, I don't have much experience with Hanns-G, but I've heard a few good things (Samsung fan boy myself).

Great response, 3ms, my only gripe is the contrast ratio 800:1 ? My old 22'' Samsung has 15000:1.

Though things like contrast ratio aren't important to a lot of people, it is for me, just throwing it out there. Bump for a cheap, massive monitor!

Price is $369.99 w/ Free Shipping if anyone is too lazy to click.
Nice deal, but please use the correct Online Deal naming format. Use the drop-down menu (or "combo box") to choose "Deal:", then type "Product name for price at store name".

So, it would then look like this: "Deal: Hanns-G Black 27.5" 3ms Widescreen LCD for $369.99 shipped at Newegg", because it has free shipping. And the "Deal:" is not hyperlinked because it was selected in that drop-down menu.

Please see this thread as posted by the General Manager of OCN:

Naming threads in the Online Deals forum (read this or your thread will be deleted)

If everyone would just follow these rules and use the same exact naming format, then there would be no confusion as to where the deal is at when only looking at the thread title. Not only that, but people would know if it has a MIR, or free shipping, etc,.

I have this monitor, and it is quite nice.

Nowhere near the quality of a Samsung or Sony, but it's size > quality here.

I would not bite, as it is cheap because the pixel pitch is so large (the resolution is low for the size) and the contrast ratio is only average. Furthermore, at that size the viewing angles could become problem when using it as a computer monitor since you would be sitting much closer to it.
Well that 15,000:1 Samsung you have is a dynamic contrast ratio. My 20,000:1 Samsung dynamic contrast ratio still has a 1,000:1 normal contrast ratio and so does yours. I don't claim to really know the difference to be honest, but I think it's mainly marketing. Plus, my old 19" ViewSonic had a 550:1 contrast ratio and I was very happy with the picture I would get. I think most of these things are hard to notice unless you're looking at two monitors side by side. If you think you can handle a 27.5" screen, this looks like a decent buy. The viewing angle isn't anything to get excited about although it's pretty standard, and definitely standard for a monitor of this size in this price range. At 27.5", you're going to be experiencing very different viewing angles at different points on the screen. So expect a slight gradient in the color even when a solid color is being displayed.

+1 i had this monitor about a year ago and i didn't realize it at the time how much it SUCKED!!! But once i got this samsung monitor i couldn't believe the difference in quality, it was literally night and day. The colors are really dull and the blacks are more like dark grays.
