Should be quite the upgrade. I got a 7870xt which performs on par with the 7950 and it is roughly equivalent in performance to my dual 5870's. (A tad slower before overclocking) Given the fact a 470 and a 5870 are roughly on par you should see a sizable performance increase.

Really good deal for anyone looking to buy a graphics card and of course it comes with the Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite.
$250 for a 7950 + Free Games?

This is definitely an instant buy for someone looking for a high end GPU!

I already got my XFX 7950 but no free games =/

The difference is you can OC the 7950 a bit and get every higher performance. I have my 7950 DD @ 950ghz and I haven't gotten higher than mid 70s.

This is creeping in on 7870 XT price, great deal.

I replaced two 470's with a single 7950, so it's definitely a worthy upgrade. The Sapphire card has a better cooler and should allow for a higher overclock and lower temps. It'll probably run quieter as well.

@HaunteR that seems quite high for such a mild overclock.

Oh I know that! It was merely a point of reference to answer EpiDx's question.

http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist

you can check any card on there for compatability. The only remaining 7950 that is for sure still using a 7970 PCB is this one:

There's also a chance that some Twin Frozr 3's may still use the 7970 PCB but there are no guarantees.

I actually just went through the same thing and I was able to snatch up the HIS card I linked above when it was in stock for like 2 seconds lol

for anyone interested, this waterblock should work. Although it's not really in stock atm, you can order and they'll ship when it is in stock.
