This deal was posted in another users thread but I didn't think it was getting enough attention. Everyone was jumping over the other off brand controller 32GB SSD so i thought this deserved to a thread of it's own.

I'd say just get it. I'm not a fan of OCZ products but sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger. Long story short with this drive you have the choice between running GC (garbage collection) or TRIM (W7 Optimization) firmware. OCZ has been great for the enthusiest SSD community.. except Summit series owners. Long story short it's $100 SSD with great performance. You'd be a fool IMO not to get it for an HTPC boot drive. I just got mine for that exact reason (http://www.overclock.net/htpc/616412...tpc-build.html). Thank me after you order it!

FYI: The OCZ rebate process is awesome.

My son and I just bought one from Microcenter. They had an OK deal for $159.99 with the $30 rebate. Man is that thing TINY! Windows 7 loaded much faster than my WD320gb caviar blue (single drive). Preliminary benchmark of HDTune recorded 213MB/s read....... Not too shabby. From the looks so far, I'd say we'll both end up with a RAID 0 of a couple of these 30gb SSD's

Bam!

ami good with the big guy now?

TY nekon!
Nice build btw. I almost picked up the same atom board.

I figure that if nothing else, the quick boot times will be nice on a htpc that gets turned on and off (unlike my sig).

Happy Holidays!!!

edit: Ooh yah, I'm liking that benchmark Hollywood!

it's an SSD. for $100.

it will give your system a massive UI boost.

what have you ever bought that has given more bang for buck than this SSD will?

It didn't even occur to me... Massive bang to buck ratio.

I'm exited. It's gonna be downright painful leaving this thing in it's box until the rest of my HTPC parts roll in this xmas.
