dosnt matter, really, all manufacturers allow the normal waranty with open box. so you get a full warranty on open box...win win situation

if it was registered before, complain and show proof of purchase and they will remove the other persons information and input yours correctly(or as they did with my old 4890 a year ago, replace it for you with one that was not registered)

as an fyi, the 1gb one will go back on sale tomorow morning, they took bolth down when i ordered the 2gb
