How so?
I mean, yeah we all use "uber" in the wrong way, given that it's translation would be as "over-", needing something to follow it as it is a modifying adjective.... But how so, with consideration to paradigm and pro-active?

"Über" in German means "over" or "above". So literally translated it would mean "over deals" or "above deals".

"Its not just a deal - its an over-deal!"

Most every use of the word that I have heard/read lately (3-5 years) has been accurate. That was not my point.

There are words that are universally fun to say (Uber is one of them for me), and the meaning has an elusive and magical feel as it is spoken.

Words are power, they convey that which is trapped within us. They are the mediium with which the reality in our mind's soul can be transferred to the reality that we exist within, and on to the reality of anothers mind. This transition of thought often morphs to the subjectiveness of the recipient. Words require a unique, concise and occasionally powerful definition so that our thoughts are recieved as we intended them. This is a requirement for catharsis and the tranquility of the soul - free and understandable communication.

Words lose their power when they are over-used. Take cussing for instance. A person that cusses constantly isn't really saying anything anymore and is no longer expressing a feeling or a thought. You may also note that these individuals are oftentimes onery people, frustrated by their inablility to express their torment or their joy. Their language has no power, not power to dominate, but power to communicate.

Paradigm became "Boardroom Buzz-word" and was slaughtered with over-use.

Pro-Active has the same M.O., with an added twist - it's redundant, as being active is being pro.

Back to Uber - Because the word is used to describe so many objects, it losses its impact. What makes something "super" or "uber" is it's uniqeness (regardless of the properties in question). Because of the widespread use, the C2D is not Uber, it is more. Perhaps Paragon (for now).

I meant no disrespect, it is merely that when an object, event, or thought becomes ubiquitous it loses it's value. Ergo it's impact.

Just MHO

Okay, back to 'Puters
