  • Boy diagnosed with condition at six weeks
  • Parents unsure of son's life expectancy
  • Two-year-old rushed to hospital six times
  • See a picture of Alfie Clamp at the Daily Mail
A BRITISH toddler has become the first person in the world to be born with an extra strand in his DNA, in a condition so rare doctors don't even know its name.

Alfie Clamp, from Warwickshire, northern England, has a seventh chromosome which has an extra arm.

Poor kid!

I had to modify the title slightly(just removed his name), to fit the title.

I really feel for the parents. I know exactly what they are going through only from a sibling perspective. My brother was born with an extra chromosome on the 4th pairing and he was given a life expectancy of less than 3 years. He is now 28.

The parents are in for a really rough time and I really respect them for trying to do everything they can to give the child the best life it can. I hope for the best for them.

I wouldn't say Warwickshire is northern England either, unless you live in London where everything above Watford is the great northern wasteland (that is a London based newspaper afterall!)
