If not, might consider them again for my next build.

Yes, I hated the X-Fi chip with PASSION. I only liked the 3D engine, it was really good. The rest of it? Complete and pure garbage.

No, the cards use a brand new (nothing from previous cards) architecture. They are built on Creative's new Sound Core 3D engine. They will return hardware acceleration to sound cards.
