Even if it hasn't been entirely decided yet NVIDIA is expected to go through with the launch event of the GeForce GTX 400 series March 26 at PAX 2010, but there won't be any benchmarks. Specifications and prices will be revealed, but the media embargo with complete benchmarks and such won't be until March 29th, Monday the week following PAX...

...The move of the media embargo makes it easier for everyone to dig deeper into the new NVIDIA architecture and from our point of view this is a lot better than launching on March 26th, even if PAX 2010 is now risking to become nothing but a big tease and not the big launch even we first anticipated.

NDA's have already been signed.... products have already been shipped... how do you force everyone to sign a new NDA? It has to be everyone because it just takes one to break the NDA to leak EVERYTHING.

What is the point of this? I honestly don't understand what's with Nvidia.. Are they that embarrassed with their own product that they want to hide benchmarks as long as they can? What's the point really

-Could the NDA's involve a go code? So its not "release information on such and such day" but more along the lines of "you will get a call from our HQ saying its OK to go public" kinda thing?

That way Nvidia isn't held to a certain day, but can have a roaming launch date.

Maybe Nvidia needs more time to develop more mature drivers so the cards look more attractive at launch?

This. I just don't see it happening. And where is the official word from NVIDIA?

Well, it depends on whether the product is really released into the wild. Remember there were rumors that it may slip another week.
So they release the specs and pricing and show some behind a glass case on the 26th or running in a machine.
Add some nice whitepapers and a powerpoint presentation.

On the NDA it is possible that the NDA says 3/31 or whenever the company releases benchmarks whichever comes first. That would cover the original plan that all the info is coming out on 3/26

I think they just do not want any benches out until they are happy with their drivers. If it took them 6 month longer than ATi just to get this generation out then imagine how long it must take them to be making decent drivers for the cards!

If they weren't able to use engineering samples from A1 then they definitely should of been able to for A2. If they couldn't use engineering samples from A2 for drivers then the yields must of been unfathomable and should still be significantly bad for A3.

It's got to be drivers.
