If gateway's anything like dell, they might use proprietary front panel connections and a non-standard mobo size. Be sure to post pics; I want to see how this turns out.
will do. should be getting it thursday.
Received the case today. Box was a little damaged but case is good to go

I just got home from 14 hrs at work and I am bout to eat and relax- but ill post some picts soon-

Oh, there were so many more cheaper cases with decent airflow. Like mine *cough* yeah.
NZXT makes good cases. I don't find that case attractive but it if it has good cooling and a few nice features, who cares.

Good luck, hope everything works out well!
I would go with the storm scout,,, But I am partial to it.

Here is mine.

nice paint man! that looks sweet
dont lose it in the desert

I dont plan on doing anything drastic with swapping a gateway pc into this nzxt case, just a nice cheap case with better airflow (gateway case has exhaust fan and thats it) that i like for $30

Heres a link to my WC project that ill be doing tomorrow f.y.e.

Looking forward to pics.

How'd it go? I was planning on putting a dell dimension in a new case for ****s and giggles, but it uses a proprietary power switch.

I finally got around to doing the swap

been busy with other stuff- like finishing my first watercooling loop for my main rig- Link here if you'd like to check it out- http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...g-project.html

this case is surprisingly nice and easy to work with.
Heres some picts of the gutted gateway case that i will be donating to a friend who is going to slap a cheap system in it for video surveilance for his security system.

Also a couple of pictures of the gateway guts-
I got lucky and they used a standard intel board so i didnt have to get creative with the mobo standoffs

It came with an intel mobo, intel core duo quad (q6600?), coolermaster cpu cooler, evga graphics, and a tv tuner card.

I replaced the psu, used the megaheilms cpu cooler out of my main pc, added a wireless network card, and some fans

The flash was off when i took the picture of the components- sorry ><

I took off the coolermaster cpu cooler (came stock) and replaced it with the mega from my sig rig. I screwed in the standoffs into the right holes. I love how the nzxt case came painted black (on the inside) already
Wiring was a breeze in this case. There is plenty of room on the backside of the mobo for running all your wires and keeping the front tidy, even with a non-modular psu like the cheapie I am using in this pc.

Here are the finished picts. I like it. The gateway only had 1 small delta exhaust fan. In this case I have 3 120mm intake fans, 2 140mm exhaust fans up top, and an additional 120mm fan zip tied to the backside of the hdd bay. Its very quiet, no louder than it used to be if you can believe that

Pretty nice for a $60 upgrade. I already had the 400w psu (got it for $25 on sale after rebate) and the extra fans. I got the cpu cooler from my sig pc as I added a watercooling loop to that one
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...g-project.html I paid $30 for the case (waiting for $30 rebate) and $28 for the 2 xiggy 140mm fans.

What do you guys think?

Yeah- they look pretty horrid- but they're quiet, quality made, push a decent amount of air, and i already had them-
