Hey guys, so I finally decided to make a thread about this after being without my main computer for about 4 days now. I've went through at least 10 pages of Google searches but none has helped so this is kind of my last option. I don't know if this is the right place to be posting it but I assume it is an OS fault/software issue.
So basically what's happening to my computer is when I turn on my computer, everything boots normally. I get to the page where I select my OS, I select Windows 7 (64-bit) and the typical loading screen appears but after it's finished a black screen appears with a mouse cursor. The cursor is functional and that's about it. Ctrl+Alt+Delete does not do anything and neither does jamming the shift key for sticky keys. I've left my computer on for a couple hours as well and it doesn't change anything.
In addition, I've tried booting other OS's which I have on my hard drive along with the other hard drives I have I get the same thing but with my other hard drive with Windows 7 RC edition but instead of the black screen I get a blue error screen flash for a split screen as the computer restarts and too fast to be read.
Some things I've tried are: repairing the computer using advanced options (Windows says it's been repaired, I tried repairing again and it doesn't let me as it's "already repaired"), running in safe mode (same results), checking memory errors (many times, no difference) and 2 full system scans using Norton 2010 Antivirus Recovery Tool (fixed 3 threats, second time did not catch any threats.).
Some additional info. to problem,
- My friend was playing League of Legends on my computer, the day before the problem.
- My hard drive was and still is making squeaks.
- I scheduled dskchk on my C:/ which I've cancelled and interrupted.
- My hard drives seem to be still functional as the directories and files seem to be intact from the Norton scan.
- The Norton scan apparently found 3 threats (trojans) which are "fixed".
- I do not have restore points.
Any help is much appreciated, I've spent quite some time trying to fix my computer I just hope this thread does not go by unread because my computer is probably going to stay this way.
I just want my computer to function normally again because I want to download music and sync my music and I also have all my photos saved on my computer.
Once again, thank you very much for any help.
