Hey guys, My new Hiper 580W Type-R arrived today and when I hook it all up I get the mother of all errors

"No Signal"

All the fans run (some more powerfull than usual) and windows boots up (because the lan shows up on my mums computer) But the monitor gets new signal

I reseated/checked all the wires. What else could I try

Please Help

Thanks

No I dont have another card to test it with cause I swapped this X1800GTO for my X800GT.

I go up and try reseating the Card

Pull it all apart and start again from scratch. You may have missed something in your frustration. I have done crazy things over time like not plugging in the vid cards dual power connectors properly- that could be the issue. Put your old PSU back in and turn it on- what happens? As Probyn mentioned - jumper re-set. Can you get the vid card's fan to run?

Yeah the fan goes - Strange thing is it goes at 100% and doesnt throtle back to a slower rpm when the system boots - like it usually does with the older PSU(which is a 380 No Name) What Would cause the fan to go at 100%?

If I have to rebuild it I might aswell wait for a few days and use my DFI when it arrives.

Windows definatly boots cause I can use hotkey to open winamp and start playing music

This may be useful, this worked for me.

Take out all components but the bare minimum.
(PSU, 1 stick of ram, CPU+HS, HD, graphics unless onboard)
Also take out the power cord for the moment.

Take the cmos battery out of the machine for atleast 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes put the battery back in along with the power cord and boot. If a successfull boot, add the other components back into the machine and reboot.

Lan simply shows your network connection...nothing to do with your OS

I doubt that your system is even getting past POST, let alone windows booting up!
Do you hear a series of beep codes when you power up? This can sometimes be your only clue as to what may be wrong when your monitor receives no signal.
Do you take precautions against ESD when you touch componentry inside your system, and lastly, have you checked and double checked all your device power connections and the ATX to your mobo?

Regards.....

No beep codes - And yes I used a anti static wrist band and yes I checked all device connections

There is something very wrong with your rig and I suppose it's either the monitor or the VID card. I had my rig a few years ago working without a monitor 'cause it was broken, I just put it in and out of hibernaton with the winamp on to listen to music. It just seems your rig runs without a monitor... weird
Here's something to think of.

*EDIT If the VID card was dead would it still boot? I suppose not... Could you check if the cables that go in the monitor are properly atached?

Not the monitor as I tried it with my mums monitor - no luck

I dont think it is completly dead - I Have a feelin it may be the motherboard as a couple of years ago I had a working motherboard, took it out case to put in new power supply, put motherboard back and (must have damaged it in some way when I put it back in) and same thing happened, went to maplin got this CRAPPY motherboard took it back, plugged it in, everything worked fine - So I will just have to wait till DFI Lanparty comes on Thursday

Try all output connections on your card along with a different monitor. You have to be unlucky to have killed the card via static. Swap some of the Molex connectors around. Some power supplies need load across the entire supply, all of the 12 V rails so just connect the spare molex plugs to anything or each other if need be.
