No signal to monitor through DVI after new build -- help appreciated greatly! [SOLVED]

So I ordered two complete PC's at the same time and currently have the one I'm on now up and running, obviously. I ordered one for me and one for my other half. For the one the post is about, it's a Gigabyte-GA990FXA-UD3, AMD FX 8350, G.Skill Sniper 1866 8 GB (2x4 GB), Kingston HyperX 120 GB SSD, two 2 TB Seagate Barracudas, Rosewill Lightning 1300w PSU and a XFX 7970. For the other, the only things different is a Corsair HX 750 PSU and a XFX 7870. Now, with all of my parts I put everything together, only plugged in the SSD, 24 pin into the mobo and the 8 pin to the CPU, turned it on, no signal. I did some troubleshooting and decided to just try other parts from the other computer until it working, I ended up changing to everything from the other build, same thing, I've mixed and matched every different way I can think of and still get no signal to my monitor, the monitor is fine, I've checked it already too. I'm just trying to determine what is dead and what isn't at this point. Thanks in advance for much needed help.

Sounds like a graphics card issue. Have you tried a different card? Hook up the monitor to another computer with a different graphics card to ensure it's not the monitor. If it ends up working with another card, then it's likely that your graphics card is fried or the port is fried. Try connecting to a different port as well.
Thanks for the reply, with the 1300w PSU I've tried both the 7870 and the 7970, both DVI ports on each. I know the monitor is fine because it is my secondary monitor on the computer I'm on at the moment.
You say it's a different graphics card... it might need a power connector - 6 or 8 pin from PSU.
I wonder how the PC boots without graphics beign recognized... how many beeps do you hear?
7970 is 8-pin, 7870 is 6-pin. No beeps because the motherboard didn't come with a BIOS speaker. I have an old one I thought I could use but it's 8 or 10-pin and the new board has a spot for a 4-pin internal speaker but the actual speaker didn't come with the board or the case. Can you hear BIOS beeps through external speakers hooked into either the onboard audio or the front panel? Thanks.
Are you using the correct input mode on the monitor?
Also make sure you switch out the cables, and try other inputs beside DVI to make sure the monitor itself isn't dead.
If both GPUs work with the other monitor, I'd look at the non-responsive monitor itself as the culprit.
I only have the one monitor at the moment, and the TV I'm on right now. But as an update : so I still have my old build, the one I'm on now, I took the 7870 and stuck it in to be sure it wasn't a dead GPU and voila it works, so I popped it back out, put it in the new build, plugged in the 2 6-pins and hit the power button, boom, BIOS. Nothing unchanged from yesterday, same monitor, exact same build, same DVI port on the 7870. I guess last night the computer fairy fixed it while I was asleep?

The monitor auto-detects analog or digital.

It's the same monitor, it's just a secondary monitor to my old build, the PC I'm on now.

Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it. Have to love when things fix themselves for no reason, but I'll take what I can get. Now onto cable management, OS installs, RAID configs, sleeving, case fans and cathodes~

You probably had a lose connection or dirty/oxidized connector. Enjoy your builds.
