For some reason, the sound on one of my sister's computers integrated sound has working. For some reason Windows just would not recognize the device, it always said "No audio device". So after some tinkering in the bios, I figured that on board sound is somewhat prone to having problems, so I would just go get a cheap sound card to replace it.

Tonight, I install the sound card, and lo and behold, Windows doesn't recognize it. What could be wrong? By the way, before I put in the new sound card, the motherboard would beep occasionally. I'm pretty sure it would be beep just about every time the computer should of put something out through the desk speakers.

(Sorry for not doing so well explaining this, it's pretty late at night in NY.
