I am in need of a NorthBridge Heatsink. My board does NOT have mounting holes, only the little loop things....<br><br>
(Don't worry, kids, I cleaned off the Thermal Paste)<br><br>
Any suggestions?<br><a href="http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/a/a8/a8e81def_vbattach33565.jpeg"><img alt="LL" src="http://cdn.overclock.net/a/a8/525x525px-LL-a8e81def_vbattach33565.jpeg" style="width:525px;height:356px;"></a>

I am actually wondering the same thing so someone will be helping two ppl at once <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">. I was actually thinking of just using some thermal adhesive but I wasn't really sure how it would hold up.

What are you talking about? Don't use adhesive, there is compatibility for pretty much every type of mounting configuration out there, even server CPU's.

Yah... I'm using a cheap fan with the adhesive right now... and I am very nervous about it... it is extremely cheapo, and the adhesive might be working.<br><br>

EDIT: RyGuy... could you post a pic so I can see?

OK, this thing is being really dumb because the link is at cluboc dot net, and if you type oc dot net you get Overclock.net. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/mad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Mad"><br><br>
The hooks go in the slot and a little screw secures it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"> I have one on my motherboard right now that is attached by the hooks.<br><br>
EDIT: Attached the picture.<br><a href="http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/b/bc/bca64ccf_vbattach33567.jpeg"><img alt="LL" src="http://cdn.overclock.net/b/bc/525x525px-LL-bca64ccf_vbattach33567.jpeg" style="width:400px;height:312px;"></a>

I just cannot see it working... I appologize for my mind not being very photgraphically creative.<br><br>
BTW... Link goes nowhere.

I also agree that is an excellent cooler, the only reason I didn't chose that was that it is too tall to fit in my setup because of the proximity of the chipset to the CPU; it would hit the BT. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/frown.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Frown">

OK, folks... I think I have narrowed it down:<br><br><a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835108072" target="_blank">Swiftech</a><br><br>
or<br><br><a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118014" target="_blank">Zalman</a><br><br>
I really like the price of the Zalman, but would be willing to pay for the nicer cooler if it is indeed worth it.

I vote zalman, price is unbeatable, its dead silent, and performes with the best of them! Oh and did i mention, its BLUE! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"><br><br>
The swiftech is nice, but really doesnt outperform the zlaman by much,a nd it more that 3times the price! I think its clear who wins...

So... Zalman... one more time... it <i>works</i> with the loops and hooks, and <i>does not</i> need the mounting holes, right?<br><br>
(I am a nervous shopper)

Yes sir, that is how it is hooked to my mobo, by hooks on the loops. My mobo hase lille loops, not holes. It will work with your rig.
