Not DLing work packets??

189 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Tufelhunden
In the past when a packet was done it would immediately get a new one which didn't take any time at all. When I started folding on this Vista rig it seemed like getting a packet took a while. Today I have been sitting here for over 1/2 hour and it still shows the status "Attempting to get work packet". Everything relative to my internet connection at this end seems fine so I don't get the hold up, especially since in the past it had been nearly instantaneous.

I'm running the CPU client, version 6.23 and took a look at the log and here are the last lines:

[00:44:03] + Attempting to get work packet

Now I am guessing here that those time signatures are from today since I could not find a date but then I have been "holding" since 2 AM??? Does "no other work to do" literally mean the Stanford site has nothing else to give out?

I just checked "current/latest unit" and this is what it showed:

Current Work Unit
-----------------
Name: p4452_Seq48_Amber03
Tag: P4452R48C3G1
Download time: March 10 04:49:38
Due time: May 12 04:49:38
Progress: 100% [||||||||||]

Ok, now I am really confused!

I find a restart usually helps. Not sure if you tried that yet or not.

Which client? There is a way to send partial results, called qfix IIRC. Let me know which client and I can probably find a guide.

Yep, got that message when I installed it tonight, too. If you let it run long enough, you'll get an error saying it's corrupted, and Stanford will download you a new one. Then wait a couple of moments and it'll work again.

If you're using NOD32, make sure to include the new sub-directory in the exclusions list (it was blocking work process just like your log is showing). As soon as I excluded it, it started working fine.
