Hello overclockers and overvoltagers!

I have an asrock k7v88 mobo (cheap!) and a mobile athlon xp 1600+ (t-bred, 1.4GHz) running:
cpu:
8.5x200 (1.7GHz) @1.7V
mem:
512MB, 2x200MHz, 2.0CL (lucky!)

i am STRUGGLING to keep it stable at 9x, but it just won't hold on! it BSODS after a few seconds (longer if i don't try to do anything more than run notepad) even with L8 and L11 set to CCCCC (that is ~1.9V and with +10% that the mobo allows, 2.1V!!!)

do i need more cooling? (as it is at 1.7GHz it never goes above 47C)
do i need more voltage? (i am very afraid to try it, and also i have topped the motherboard! 2.1V!)
do i need more stable power supply?!?

oh yeah,and a silly coolermaster Heatsink/Fan!

p.s.( my gf5700le 128MB is clocked from 225/400 to 500/500, hehehehehehe, nvidia's freq settings don't allow higher core! mem can't go above 500MHz)

I do not want to spend money on this thing... if i had money i would get a new processor. So far, i have not spent anything (well, ok, 30cents to buy a pencil to close the L8 L11 bridges...) that was necessary only to overclock.

But if i am to spend something... well... more or less 50Euro...

Can you think of a reason why i can't get the freq above 1750MHz?

you got the money then buy those and a new cpu and it will stablise your comp
