Nvidia Control Panel

Hi,
I have a problem with the NVIDIA control panel. Every time I try and open it, i get an error. Idk what it means, and the reason why I want to get to it is because my monitor, a 32" TV does not show the edges of the screen, and looks too sharp when i have it set at 1080 (yes it's a 1080P), and it shows the screen fine at 1366 by 768. My bro told me that under the N.C.P. there would be some stuff to mess with the scaling, but when I try to open up the control panel, it shows me the error.

Can anyone help me fix this? I've reinstalled Windows multiple times ever since I got this card, and the control panel has never worked form day 1.

How are you connected? VGA, DVI, etc?

Are you installing the drivers for you Evga 8600GTS from the CD or websites? If you've been installing from the CDs then try downloading them from the Evga Website or Nvidia website. However, I think Nvidia has the latest drivers for your Windows 7 64-bit.

It's conected by dvi to hdmi (dvi to hdmi converter conected to a dvi cable) The drivers are up to date, I reinstalled the latest ones on nvidias website 2 days ago. Thanks for the replies.

Have you tried the card on a different computer or different OS with the same drivers? Have no idea what the problem could be except that maybe the card and drivers might not be compatible with Windows 7

My 8800GTX was doing the same thing with my 42".

I origionaly had it running on a P4 system, with my 8600, but I had the same problems. I've used xp, vista, and now 7, all with the same problems.
On the tv's settings set the picture size to "Just Scan".

Wow that card sounds faulty now
Any spare GPUs? I think you should email EVGA the problem (unless you find the answer here) and tell them about it not working on different OS as well as a different system. Maybe even ask them if you should RMA the card.

Thanks for all the replies! Tomorrow,I'll see if there is some setting on the tv, and I'll email evga. I will also try using an old EVGA 6200 (eww lol), and then see if onboard graphics (ati) will work.
Are any of you getting the newest 195.62 driver at nVidia for W 7 64bit?
Tried updating through Windows and they tell me I have the newest driver. (191.62)
I keep getting this error message at nVidia???

http://www.nvidia.com/page/technologies.html</a>')" onmouseout="hideSubMenu(this, '06');" onmouseover="showSubMenu(this, '06', '#333333')" class="globalnav_item_container"
Nothing worked...

Should I RMA the card?
I had the same problem with a Evga 8800 now I use XFX

Wow, didn't think about that until right now^^^^

All the GPU's I tested in it were EVGA lol.
My friend has a BFG GTX 295, I'll see if he'll let me borrow it to see if it will work, thanks
