I'm trying to figure out what SLI bridge to buy. I've never tried SLI and want to.

I was reading this technical article which looks at the different SLI bridges (flexible, LED and HB): https://overclocking.guide/nvidia-hb-sli-bridge-technical-review.

I know many think you can just use 2 flexible bridges no problem but the technical analysis shows the LED & HB Bridge have a wave shaped traces to have exactly equal lengths whereas the flexible bridges do not. It looks like this is the difference NVIDIA has done to 'correct' issues of the flex bridge (micro screen tearing, etc). It also looks like the HB Bridge is nothing more than 2 LED Bridges...

I'm trying to figure out if these two items are functional identical:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/SLI-HB-BRIDGE2-WAY-M

https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards-Accessory/ROG-SLI-HB-BRIDGE

All I have now is a single flexible SLI cable so I know I need to get something. I don't necessarily want that glowing HB Bridge so if I can get the regular one.

They are the same, one just looks more pleasing to the eye
Yeah, the cheap one. ;)

In all honesty, I'd pay extra for a 'covered' version that didn't glow and fit the design aesthetic of the STRIX cards. The nVidia direct one looks good on the founder edition cards but doesn't fit the design of the STRIX. Ahh well, my case doesn't glow or have a window so the cheap one it is! :)
