Reportedly development is already underway, and the big N is shooting for a 45nm design for release sometime in 2008. The plan is, naturally, an integrated graphics chipset mixed with their fancy new CPU, a package which it looks like NVIDIA is well poised to offer, and which will be a vital offering from the likes of Intel and AMD in the years to come.

Well if this happened, I would just say, if it performed better, I would buy it, CPUs I hold no allegiance to, Video cards on the other hand...well, Big N For the Win.

Would they need their own socket though, or would they use an existing one of amd or intel?

Nice! Lets hope it can compeet with Intel and AMD for the enthusiest desktop market!

EDIT: They would, of corse, use there own socket. Why would Intel or AMD let a competiter use there socket?

lol, that's funny, there going to be using socket N and require a 2000 power supply to power up their systems with their nvidia cards lol.

I could say "now let’s not over exaggerate" in response to your 2000W comment, so I don't want to hear it.

Who knows, Nvidia knows what they're doing.. atleast when it comes to GPU's and chipsets.. Hopefully thier CPU will stack up against the best, or atleast come close. Afterall it would be thier first try, either way I applaud them for trying to hold thier own in the AMD/ATI and Intel world.

No, its not going to end up like a Via CPU, because a Via cpu consumes only 10W. They actually have a 1.5Ghz chip that consumes only 7W. The Nvidia is probably going to consume 250W, unless they start thinking like AMD and Intel, trying to get the best performance per watt.

who knows, Nivida could end up making the best CPU's out of all 3 of them. Will have to wait and see.
