Does anyone know the optimum BIOS settings on an Asrock x299 OC Formula for a Samsung 970 Evo M2 NVMe drive? I didn't see very good speeds at the default setting. Tried changing the SATA 3 to Gen 3 mode and got some improvement, but still not near the specs. Thanks.

What benchmark are you using? Share some screenshots? Changing anything for SATA does not affect PCIe NVMe storage devices... changing the PCIe link speed from auto to gen 3 can help improve performance if for some reason the UEFI doesn’t properly negotiate the link. As well, if you’re stuck on PCIe 3.0 x2 rather than PCIe x4, try changing the PCIe slot the drive is installed in. Sometimes clearing CMOS can fix it too. disable write cache buffer flushing for the drive in windows device manager and set power mode to high performance or ultimate. In the bios disable any power savings modes: C1E, ASPM. Enable turbo. That’s basically it, not much to do to get max performance.
