I've had mine on for a couple of months and have had a couple of times where I've experienced the red ring of death. I took mine off last night to just quiet the system down a bit. I'll have to inspect the power port to make sure it's not FUBAR'd.

In the end, just be wary of your console if you have one.

2 people on the Xbox.com forums say that the Intercooler melted onto the X360. Which was beyond repair. And Nyko actually sent a X360 to the people and a NEW Intercooler. Lol, so you can replace it again?

The best option is to just give the 360 room to breath. I've never had mine overheat. Just like a pc, it has to be able to exhaust hot air. And its case is a lot smaller than an ATX computer. give it some room.

You may have heard the rumors going around about the Nyko Intercooler. What was meant to help your Xbox 360 from overheating is actually causing it's own kind of burnout. Reader Ben M. sends in these pictures of the Intercooler he bought for his system along with the horror story of what happened when he put it in use.

As you can see, this product, although a great idea and it actually works, can be a serious fire hazard. Just check out what it did. Not to mention it melted one of my Xbox360 power connector covers which is still inside the Intercooler. Burnt, may I add.

From what I can gather, this has been happening to a lot of people and I certainly hope that NYKO will do a recall of these defective apparatus. If not, I hope they are ready to pay for repairs on all those burnt out 360's. Flynn De Marco
blan get a 200W PSU. mod it to startup without a motherboard and hook up some fans the PSU. Cut out A few fan shaped things on the Xbox360 case and you got your self a cooler Xbox360
