Plus I finally have the ability to begin such a project. I'm no expert so its not going to look perfect, but as much OCD as I have it will be pretty darn close

Great work man! I love that mother board, I did used one in my "Draco" build and it is so cool. Quadfire anyone? So cool!

I like your OP I need to take some pointers from you for organzing your build post. The banner looks cool and the album on Flickr seem like a good idea.

BTW the black PCB board on the mobo and your black case look posh man, good idea on the color scheme.

So finally back at home (for a couple days anyway) and what better way to enjoy it by getting putting this thing together

Now to the newest -- (sorry had to switch host sites due to too many uploads
)

Lite-On Dvd drive and a White Box......

Since I like shiney, vibrant packaging, the Optical drive makes the first appearence

So, what was hidden in the lil white box.....

BUBBLEWRAP!!!! Sweet!

(after 2 minutes of popping bubbles here is what it had been charged to protect)

So now all is out and about, its time to get comfortable in the new home

Lite-On drive first

And now the workhorse

All wired up and ready to get under way

Yes its messy, but cant see it anyway

Power ON!!

All looking good so far, now just had to wait a week for the Graphics card and memory <_< (so much for overnight shipping)

After a week of travels, and other business dealings, I arrive home to yet another newegg.com cardboard box

(which as you can tell is just a normal box so figured jump right into its contents)

Another White Box!! Well lets look in it this time to behold the newest surprise

MORE BUBBLEWRAP!!!

........
....
.......
...
....

erm...Back on subject -- New DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaw Memory

And I have seen many debates on Xfire and what could be better and blah...blah...blah... But after many reviews from many different sites I felt that this would suit my needs more so than anything else (I'm not a huge gamer, but like to do so when I have a chance) So on to my finally goodie to get this thing up and running...

No Bubblewrap

So more installs (plugins nice and easy)

Install Complete (90%)......Moment of Truth.......

Awesome

So instead of waiting for the new OS to come in the mail (patience?? whats that?) Found a copy of XP pro laying around and figured why not give it a test to make sure all is well. Heck may even keep it if I like it (but 7pro will be on the door tomorow so we shall see)

And a quick run through the Bios to figure this thing out....

All is set and square, keeping everything stock for now. Maybe will O'c later once actually figure that part out.

Insert boot disk and "Jeopardy Music"...................

And Another Success

Well now just waiting on the new OS, Blu-Ray drive & additional Storage Drives (still debating on model/sizes) so after running through all the reboots and driver installs lets see how it gonna look on its final home

Cant wait!!

Until next time......

30 April 2010

So finally got back home to work on this thing some more after being on the road for a month. Heres a few shots before adding the new pieces

Now onto the newest arrivals

Standard newegg.com packing, nice and protected (for now)

Think these will be very handy just about anything I can find to put on them

Now to give them some life and least keep them from looking all shabby

Attempts to route cables out of the way..... it works for now. Just learned about extender cables so those are the next project

All plugged in and ready to rock

Now back to travels for another month and hopefully next update has some better upgrades

untill next time.................................

Thanks, but of course there is never an end result. Modders cant be happy
Its actually about to swap out to a different case (smaller desktop) and using the case its in now to house a seperate home NAS server. Doing the research on it now to figure out what needs to be done. Ill hopefully be adding some more info here soon.
