Does it have any evil classes?
Is it a MMO? How good is it compared to WoW?
What performance can I expect?

there isn't an 'evil class' but Oblivion has an assasin and thieve guild you can join.

You'll bea able to run it maxed out, and you should probably look for a texture pack for it

EDIT: The gameplay is kind of boring imo
it's quite addictive, IMHO....but gameplay gets boring after a while.
If you do get into, look into downloading mods for it. The game makes it easy to use them and can create the game to how you want it to be like

As said, it gets boring after a while. It's most fun when you start out, and when you're a mid-level (20's and 30's).

You should run it maxed, even with texture packs.

You can choose different races (elves, humans, etc) which each have different specialties (wood elves are good at sneaking and marksmanship (I.E bows)), Dark Elves are good at magic, Orcs are good for heavy armor and 2H weapons.
It's pretty fun except that the combat system sucks imo. If you're pure melee then you're going to find it very boring. Try going for an archer or mage. Maybe even a sneaky person.
Actually there's a kinda evil class.
Join Dark Brotherhood and make assasination quests. When it comes to graphics, like people said you can play +60 FPS with everything maxed out.

there are few things one must install before playing:
1-)Unofficial Oblivion Patches.(You can find it in TES NEXUS)
2-)Texture Packs

You can find lots of useful packs in NEXUS.

Lets just say that I've probably played this game for over 70 hours total, I think its great.
You just have to balance out between the main quest vs. the side quests you do because it will get extremely boring if you try doing a ton of side quests. Its great though I got it when it came out, and I still play it.
it's good but IMO fallout 3 is way better

it's not an MMO, i don't know if there are any evil classes but you can be evil, and you should be able to max it out.

get quarl's texture pack 3 to make the game look even better
Does it have any evil classes? Any class can be good/evil dependant on your actions, there are also a number of guilds to choose from (eg. Assassin's or Thieve's, and the more neutral Fighter's and Mage's). There are thousands of mods, and plenty of them enhance the evil element.

Is it a MMO? How good is it compared to WoW? Not an MMO, single player RPG. I found it very addictive, when combined with mods. Not on the same scope as an MMO, though.

What performance can I expect? Max everything, and you can download a mod to improve the textures.
There's evil guilds you can join, like the thieves and assassins.

In Fallout 3, you actually have karma which determines the endings.
Can't speak for Oblivion as much, but Morrowind (the game before Oblivion) was extremely addicting, I just haven't played much of Oblivion yet and I'm waiting until I have more time away from school. If you get into the storyline, play side quests, add mods and maybe do a little modding yourself, you'll be extremely addicted. Mods are very easy to create yourself and add a whole different side to the game. I'd recommend it. Much better than World of Nerdcraft.
Just gonna point out that the texture pack is 1.7gb >.<

downloading at 50 to 100kb/s from fileplanet so its gonna take a few hours
Oblivion (and it's official addon packs) is a wonderful way to kill about 150hrs of your life. But in many ways it's not Morrowind (which was more fun to play), especially when trading in Caldera.

Problem with Oblivion when you went through one gate, you went through most of all. It became boring, let alone the auto-leveling that raised everything to your level to fight. So when you needed rat meat or something for alchemy it was no longer available, as it was below your level. Got extremely tiring when everything you fought was some epic battle, too, making even exploring a chore (try to get to Dive Rock without 100001 creatures even THAT high up coming after you -- even MMOs give you a break!).
thing about oblivion is that unless you get the shivering isles expansion, there is very little variety in terms of setting.

You get to pick between really pretty looking outside temperate type forest, caves, elven ruins, or planes of oblivion. There are hundreds of caves and elven ruins that all looks the same, and all of the oblivion planes look the same as well.

It was a leap forward when it came out, and its a pretty game even by todays standards. But it has a fairly weak story, repatative gameplay, and a very odd leveling system (in the vanilla version).
Just to bring in a level of annoying dorkdom to the discussion, the Thieves Guild isn't "evil." It's more like a Robin Hood morality.

Anyway, fun game, ignore main quest, mod items and leveling, get expansions.
Meh. I bought it, played through about an hours worth, and then sold it. Did not appeal to me at all. I'm the kinda guy that if it looks interesting Ill play through it, but everything about the game looked so damn generic. You could run for hours through the same forest, enter a hundred caves and still feel as if you only went in one..
Oblivion is okay, its pretty fun at first but it just gets so repetitive and you find yourself jsut trying to get stuff done almsot like a chore and its not very fun. I'd say Fallout 3 is way better but I don't really like that game either, found myself getting bored of that too.

if you want a good game thats like Oblivion but way better I'd look into Dark Messiah. that game is only like twenty canadian dollars and it has some cool leveling systems and it introduces some unique gameplay where you have to think things out more and interact with your environment.
