So I'm interested in learning how to overclock and currently have a Athlon 64x2 3800+ (Socket 939). But I was wondering if it would be worth OC'ing this processor (if possible) or just sell it on E-bay right now because people are paying ridiculous prices for 939s?

I'm just afraid of frying it
If it goes I don't think I could afford to replace it, specially if it takes out other parts.

I would sell it, then use some of the money and buy a cheap new processor (or a nicer one)

I don't think 3ghz will fry it. It might get a bit hot but not fried

its socket 939, not alot of them hit 3ghz. And even less were stable at that speed. Nothing easy in it.

I'd sell it, if you think u can get a decent amount and put it towards a cpu/mobo/ram.

I was thinking that, for my current cpu/mobo/memory I could get something like a Athlon II x2 240 or something.
