OK guys, I'm not realy NEW to ocing but I know I know enough to get ugly with the thing. When I take the fsb passed 241, it locks instantly, nomatter what. I have PLENTY of cooling on it, some one told me it was the ht link running too fast, but the processer only runns a ht of 1ghz and mobo supports a 2ghz, or is there a 2:1 multiplier I don't know about??

My setup:
Amd Athlon64 3200+ venice core
Mach Speed mk8-989a motherboard
^oc'd by fsb(or htt as some call it) to 240.1x10^ so 2404.1
512mb of ocz ddr3200 timings of 2-3-3-2-5 w/seperator, so running @ 199.3
Seagate 80gig 8mb cache(boot volume)
Maxtor 200gig 8mb cache
Aerocool High Tower Jr w/1 fan (soon to be 2 fans)
Nvidia GeForce7600gs oc'd to 500/410 (with iceberq 5 cooler)
dual cd/dvd rw's
550watt psu

DEAL IS: I have hit a BRICK wall, I can get NO FASTER, nomater what I try! I know i'm not running hot, cputemp @ full load for last 5 days or so is 30c.
I know its something to do with the via chipset, but if anyone knows of a workaround, I would be very appreciative.

Also: Does anyone know the pll model on this mobo??

Welcome to the forum!!!!
Drop that 10 multiplier...that'll hold you back..
Nice work on the HSF...I have the HT-101 and it's a great HSF...
And yes it's the VIA chipset holding down your OC...new MOBO is your only option to get any higher...Nforce or Crossfire

This is a regualar old a64, it has fixed multi up, but not down. The only way for me to clock is to raise fsb, and the fact that I paid like 120 for the processer and the mobo, means I can't individualy controll my ht link, but the link isn't the problem, its got 1ghz of headroom. I droped to 9.5x and only got 4 more hz on fsb b4 it craped out on me, which ment only 2360hz on cpu. I think I am just gona live with this, untill my paycheck comes in, but thanks for all your help guys.

This is one nice forum, I think I may stick around some

If we know what stuff you have we can help more

Fill in your "System Specs" via the USER CP link at the top of the page!
It's hard to keep looking back to the original post.

BTW, most OCable MB with a 939 can hit 270.
Have you droped the HTT or RAM multiplyer?

I have dropped the ram to 166mhz, any lower and I lock solid. I've hit the via brick wall I believe, but thats cool, I am getting my $50/$60 worth out of this little thing. With a new mobo, this could get interesting though......
