How does that OCZ Gamestream psu match the lights that come with the antec 900?

OCZ GameXStream Power Supply has a darker shade of blue than the Nine Hundred. Anyway they would look fine.

Don't get the OCZ PSU. It will kill your system with its high ripple.

Hi ripple? I have never heard of that. I have only heard good things about that psu, and used it in 4 builds. Please explain =)

Says Johnny. I still haven't heard of a single problem that someone has had with their OCZ GXS, much less because of the ripple factor.

ATX spec require ripple to be under 120mV. The OCZ GameXtreme 700 experiences ripple well over 150mV. This is absolutely horrendous compared to other PSUs. High ripple will absolutely destroy a system over time.

In comparison:

Here is the ripple of a fully loaded OP650 (Silverstone)

And a 550W NUUO (full load)

That review is from a year ago. Maybe they fixed things up? Regardless of the ripple factor, it's still a great PSU.
Hmm..I tried looking in the ATX Specifications but I couldn't find the 120mV part.
All those images are X'd out >.>

Regardless of ripple?

JonnyGURU review a lot of PSUs. He is the most respected reviewer on the internet. The OCZ 700 Watt is the only PSU he has ever had exceed ATX tolerance for a PSU.

Ripple is a significant factor, it will kill your system.

Where is your proof? If it would kill a system, then half the users on OCN would have dead computers.

Ripple isn't something that kills your computer instantly. It is a constant degrade of your parts. Your OC will become less stable and you will need more voltage just to keep it going. People do not recognize these effects as they happen slowly. But they do happen. You will probably end up blaming it on something else as well.

I've never had any issues with my OCZ PSU. It's powering two GPUs, C2D, 6 hard drives, two DVD drives, etc.
Guys he is right.

However ripple or no ripple it is a very good PSU

And most systems will never stress the psu enough anyways for it to ripple

Timeline? I've been using the same parts for almost a year now (august) without problems. If this ripple factor affects a system and kills it after 5-10 years, does it matter anyways? Most people don't use hardware more than 3 years old anyways.

I am sure your system will be fine. I just would not recommend getting this PSU for someone who is the market to purchase a new one.

Your system will not put your PSU near full load so you willnot experience the ripple.

Fatal, groupy or not this is fact
