OCZ or Zerotherm?

Should i get the vendetta 2 or the NV120 Premium from zeortherm?
What will they both run at on full load with a [email protected] and 1.4Vcore

The zerotherm wins on all the reviews by 10 degrees over this cooler when it comes to overclocked Quads.

I'd say wait a bit longer and get a TRUE... However I think the Zerotherm OR the Vendetta 2 would be good on that Quad Core, typically, the HDT Vendetta2/S1283 (What I have now) runs better on dual cores, Not sure about the Zerotherm though.
the s1283 and its copies are amazing for dual cores, and fine for quads to an extent.
if you can get more money, look for a noctua u12-p

(not a TRUE unless you want to lap, washer mod, and put high pressure (usually loud as hell) fan on it)
Yeah I also say save for the Noctua, I really want one for mine.
so the coolers suggested will not do? others have told me either will cool my hot chip. they are the only 2 coolers i can afford, sorry. any other suggestions, i will keep reading reviews and compare lol.

The Vendetta 2 is a really good cooler

Easily among the top 5.

Is the Xig S1283 not $26 AR+FS anymore? It was a great deal...

Otherwise, OCZ Vendetta 2 should have similar performance at a budget.
how does it compare to the premium NV120?
NV120 for it's design and get something that not much people have. I would had bought a TRUE but everyone suggests it and I hate being a follower.
what temps will i see with the nv120 wth [email protected] and 1.4v?
what temps will i see with the vendetta with [email protected] and 1.4v?

thankyou. (under 65 will do full load) (degrees)
NV120!!!! They would be similar performers Id guess but I like my nirvana. Id bet you could do 1.6v at 4.0ghz b4 you hit 65 C.

when he was using the 9700 his temps at idle were in the 40's and under load 50's with the nirvana temps basicially drop for him by 10 degrees at idle and load

not sure now, i dont think i can afford the ocz come to think of it. so you got 58 degrees at 3.4ghz and 1.36v right, what will the zerotherm be in the same conditions?
eg, temps under 3.4ghz and 1.36v?

BradleyW,

This review may help you make your decision.

Zerotherm Review

Remember if you are going "used" please ensure a few things:

1. Make sure the fins are not bent
2. Make sure the contact area is not damaged or pitted
3. Make sure the fan works correctly...it will need power

4. Make sure there are no cracks in the pipes
5. I believe it comes with a fan controller so make sure that works as well
6. Ask the person selling it WHY? What conditions did he/she use it under? Is there a return policy?

Also make sure you use some good thermal paste!

Good luck!
