OCZ Reaper PC2-8000 Heatsinks are too big?

Yeah i just purchased a pair of OCZ Reaper HPC PC2-8000 2x2GB and the heatsinks are to big for them to fit next to each other? and of course it says that on there site but i read that after i couldnt fit them, lol. So i removed one of the heat pipes off one side on just one and the other one still has both. Will i have to worry about the one with just one heat pipe over heating? im running them at there suggested speed/latency thats why i havent overclocked them yet. Im planning on my making a custom set of heatsinks out copper at the machine shop i work for but that will take a couple days to get finished and maybe a week or two to get back from plating, so will my ram be fine for a couple weeks? my case is pretty cool and i touched the other memory heatsinks and there cool to the touch, let me know what you all think, thank you.

Here's the link to memory i have: http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...gb_edition-eol

Depending on your case temp you shouldn't be to bad.

RAM doesn't really get hot and even a little bit of airflow is enough for them most of the time.

As stated above, you're fine. If possible, please post some pics of this when it's done. I would really like to see your mod.

ok cool, thanks guys for the help and i will post some pictures of the copper heatsinks when i get them finished.
Alright i made the heatsinks tonight at work, i didn't have any copper available at the time so i machined these out of aluminum, i saved my program so when i get the copper i ordered i can make an identical set out of copper, i think my design is pretty cool looking yet i kept it somewhat simple for my first set, im probably going to have these anodized electric blue depending on how much it will cost. I hope these keep my memory cool until the copper set is finished. Also im in the process of designing cool looking heatsinks for my NB and SB and im thinking of making a cpu and ram water cooling blocks, its nice having million dollar cnc milling machines to make my own stuff with, but i get hungry using up my lunch and breaks programing and machining different stuff, lol. Anyways ill keep you guys posted, heres some pics. Let me know what you all think and if you have any suggestions please let me know, thank you.

The first 3 pics show you the early stages of me machining them and where taken by my cell phone thats why they look like crap, lol. I took the rest with my camera at home.
